The Spurius Press was started as a means of providing information
on typographic issues that were important to me. It currently exists as a
letterpress publishing venture (one title to date: Five American Type Designers)
and an internet presence.
Chicago Ephemera
is an ongoing collection of typographic materials and ephemera involving Chicago
people and institutions.
John Calhoun was
the first printer and founder of the first newspaper in Chicago.
Robert Wiebking
was an important figure in typography whose contribution has gone largely
unrecognized.
The letter G is the
only character of the Roman alphabet to have a known designer. And it's my
favorite character.
